Reproduction Military Medal (MM) awarded for bravery in the field. This particular replica has Geroge VI on the face. This medal is a reproduction of the full size (36mm x 3mm) medal, cast in a zinc alloy and nickel plated. The original medal was 1oz of solid silver. The Military Medal (MM) was a military decoration awarded to personnel of the British Army and other arms of the armed forces, and to personnel of other Commonwealth countries, below commission rank, for bravery in battle on land. 

Well over 100,000 were issued during the First World War, dropping to 15,000 in the Second World War. Originals are scarce and can cost in excess of £250, particularly if named to an officer and well known regiment.
